Waiting On Fred ...

Kruz is quite the explorer.

Last Wednesday he found this ginormous beauty in our backyard.

 

 

The boys and I fell in love with this big booger and named him Fred. After admiring him a while, I told Kruz to go find a good grassy spot to let him live. Well, Kruz apparently related that to sticking him in his pocket. Yep - that was fun - pulling this guy out without squishing him.

 

 

We decided to make him a home in our bug catcher and show him off at Royal Rangers that night. By the time we got home, it was dark out. The plan was to let him go in the morning. That is until he cacooned himself overnight.

The boys and I have been checking in on Fred daily. After doing a little research, we are sold on him being a Luna Moth. According to Google, he should hatch in about another week or two.
