I Do What I Do ...

We recently had family pictures done with Courtney of Twinkling Eye Photography

I was excited when I ran into a special she was offering on mini sessions. I've always thought these little sessions were perfect for my family. More than one reason comes to mind, but the main one is that my kiddos do not last longer than twenty minutes when it comes to pictures.

I mean c'mon -  I take enough of them as it is, much less me making someone else take more?!??

Trust me, twenty minutes is plenty.

Overall, the session went great. I was pleased with the outcome and that's all that matters.

To be honest, this week has been a little crazy to say the least. Have you ever had a week when you feel like you haven't stopped and then you look around and you feel at the same exact time that nothing has been accomplished?

Yep - that's been my week.

I got our disc in the mail that held these images and I was more than excited to sit down and look at them all.

I sat down behind the computer with a feeling of being drained ... to my core. Tired and depleted.

When I began to scroll through them, I was given a refreshing, renewing look into my life. I was reminded about why I do what I do.

I do what I do for these five people.

I do what I do for this man. This man who never stops to think about himself because he is too busy thinking of me and our boys. And our church. And sometimes complete strangers.

I do what I do for this little booger. The one who keeps me on my toes daily. Who saves me $40.00 a month in a gym membership by making me chase him all day, every day. The one who takes me from frustration to giggles.

I do what I do for these smiles.

I do what I do because even though frustration may come, at the end of the day my cup runneth over with joy and love and laughter.

I do what I do for them.
